Mediators at The Mediation Center are affiliates who have completed at least 30 hours of basic mediation training and completed additional time in our structured, skill-building apprenticeship program. They are required to attend continuing mediator education workshops throughout the year. The Mediation Center offers these workshops once each month at no cost to our affiliated mediators.
Most of our mediators have also completed 30 hours of Family Mediation Training which allows them to mediate child custody and parenting plan cases.
There are no prerequisites to becoming a mediator. Anyone interested in learning how to assist others in resolving their conflicts and desires to develop their communication and negotiation process skills are qualified. Mediators at The Mediation Center represent a variety of professions, experiences, backgrounds, and cultural communities.
